Well Performance & Yield Testing

In a lot of cases a client will demand a certain volume of water from a borehole. To ensure they have sufficient supply and the correct systems installed we carry out performance/yield testing on the new production boreholes. This will give an m³/hr flow rate which we then use to determine the necessary systems to install.

These performance and yield tests also allow us to carry out water quality sampling also giving the client the results of their water quality.

Pumping Test Procedure:

  • Assessment and interpretation of all available data prior to a pumping test.

  • Preliminary pump test to gauge the correct system that will be necessary to conduct an accurate and successful well test.

  • Step Test: From the results of the preliminary test, a pump of suitable capacity can be chosen for the step test and appropriate pumping rates decided on.

  • Constant Rate Test: An adequate period needs to be determined to pump test a well provided that the constant rate can be maintained without interruption for this period. (Typically 24-72HRS)

  • Records of pumping test results should be accurately logged throughout all pumping test procedures and referenced and filed appropriately.
